Are there any groups that take walking meditations around this Mountain? A couple of years ago I moved to the SAC area and Mt. Shasta has been calling me similar to the gent in "Close Encounters". I'm looking for a hiking buddy or a mentor to introduce me to the ways of Mount Shasta. Any takers?

Hi! It's been a while since I've been there, i.e., Mt. Shasta... but one thing I bought from your place specifically while I was there is a constant reminder of the beautiful, sacred energy that was so powerfully present... It is the photo of Mother Mary (#21)... I've been looking high and low for another one just like it, but can't seem to find it anywhere... Could you please tell me how I can obtain another one from you all without having to get on a plane (at this time :) and dropping by? Thank you!

HI! I USED TO LIVE IN REDDING 22 YEARS AGO FOR LESS THAN A YEAR. I WAS 17 YEARS OLD THEN. I WAS ABLE TO GO BACK FOR A VISIT ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO FOR 1 WEEK, AND JUST RECENTLY I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO REVISIT ONCE AGAIN. I WAS BLESSED TO EXPERIENCE THE MYSTIC SPLENDER OF HER MIGHTY MAJESTY AND THE VISIT WAS ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKINGLY GORGEOUS AS I HAVE REMEMBERED SINCE I WAS A TEENAGER. I HAD A LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE WHEN I WAS THERE 22 YEARS AGO AND IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN. I WILL FOREVER REMEMBER THE FREE-SPIRITED FEELING I RECEIVE FROM MT. SHASTA THE REST OF MY LIFE. I ONLY PRAY THAT SOME DAY I CAN LIVE WITH HER AND HER MAJESTIC SOUL FULFILLING PEACE. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALLOWING ME TO SHARE THIS WITH SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS. I KNOW, NO MATTER HOW I TRY TO DESCRIBE HER TO MY FRIENDS, THEY JUST CAN'T UNDERSTAND UNTIL THEY'VE BEEN THERE. MT. SHASTA WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE PLACE TO BE UNTIL THE END OF TIME. THANK YOU FOR PRESERVING HER AND HER SURROUNDINGS, IF IT'S OKAY TO CALL MT SHASTA "HER"? I LOVE YOU GUYS FOR DOING SO. JUST THINKING ABOUT HER BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES AS I SIT HERE IN RICHMOND, VA DREAMING OF THE BEAUTIFUL SPLENDOR OF MT. SHASTA. TAKE CARE.

I saw Mt. Shasta in a book when I lived in Upstate NY 3yrs. ago. Then, I knew I must see it. I was recruited from NY to work in So.Cal. I knew it would get me closer to the MT. I have visited twice and the Mt. had an immediate effect on my overall mood and feeling of spirituality. I summited the mountain last July, solo. It was a long day and the glissade down was poignant, to say the least, but, I believe, you don't need to climb it to appreciate it. A night sleeping at Horse Camp was just as invigorating as sitting in the wind on the summit. My dream is to move up to Shasta county, get a job, and live in the Mt. Shasta area.

This is a a fantastic web site. Even though I'm 3,000 miles away, I can experience Mt. Shasta at my home. I climbed to the summit of Mt. Shasta in Sept. of 1993. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I was deeply touched by the icredible views, deep blue sky, clean fresh water, brisk and invigorating air, dramatic grades and beauty of the slopes, and countless other details that are too numerous to list. I also experienced the brutal and dangerous side of the mountain. When we descended from the summit, I became seperated from my friends. I took the wrong route down, descending approximatly 1,000 ft on the Konwakiton Glacier. Fortunatly I spotted my friends by red banks before descending any further. I had to reascend to the summit plateau to reach my friends. By the time we got back to our base camp the sun was setting. Being sleep deprived, physically exhausted, undernourished and hydrated, and not wishing to spend another sleepless night at base camp with our tents shaking in the wind; we made a poor decision and descended the mountain in the dark. In our haste to get our gear packed up and start our descent, we did not melt snow for water. In the darkness of night we lost the trail. Two of our flash light batteries died. We found ourselves wandering down the mountain, lost, our throats sore and and dry, every muscle in our bodies physically aching, hoping to find the Sierra hut. Fortunatly we reached the hut and we were able to hydrate ourselves. I was lucky to return form Mt.Shasta alive and without any serious injuries. I was required to reach further into my physical and mental reserves then ever before. Mt. Shasta taught me one of the most valuable lessons in my life, which I still carry with me today in all of my outdoor excersions. I experienced a valuable respect and appreciation for nature. I yearn for the day that I can return to this sacred mountain.

It was my birthday and it just happened to be the full moon also. I stayed at Sirrium Melchizedek's wonderful Madonna Chalet. It is a special place and Sirrium is a special person. Her Angel Connection Journey and Healing was just what I needed as I was feeling stuck. I came up to the mountain to reconnect with myself and the spirit of the mountain answered my prayers. I thank all of you who reside there. Thank you again Sirrium Melchizedek, and may anyone who reads this be blessed in their life.

On the back side of the mountain is a tree stump. The remains of a great redwood which was removed by loggers. It has been shaped into the word "Jesus" by the crafting of loggers chainsaw. I trust the logger has been shaped by the crafting of Jesus.

We've been in many states of the USA and many countries of the planet earth and we have found peace and friendship and loving hearts, as well as respect for Gaia/Pachamama,Mother Earth here in Mt. Shasta and we now feel at home as we breathe the clear air, drink the pure water, and relate to the spirits of the mountain, trees, animals, birds, and all who are interrelated, interdependent, parts of the web of life and energy, parts of the whole, parts of the Other, and we have found our bliss in this spirit filled spot!

I am excited to have found your "site" while looking up founder Mr and Mrs Guy Ballard. I have flown over Mt. Shasta many times and have always felt a certain reverence about it each time. When I was a child in Chicago my parents took me to one of the enlightening lectures of the Ballards. At that time I was invited to come before them on the stage of the Chicago Civic Opera House and receive a healing. It was the experience of a lifetime...I remember it in exact detail and feel the healing has helped me through many, many circumstances. I am so proud and grateful to my parents for taking me to witness those extraordinary Ballards of the I Am.

This site is so beautifully done. I named my daughter Shasta in 1992. I lived in Reno at the time. Now I live in Denver and people are sure I named her after the soda. I was wondering if the Mt Shasta calendars are available any more. I have a few years worth and I would really like to get a new one if they are still available. The writings and pictures together we so magnificent. Thanks for any help you can offer and again, thanks for such an inspiring page.

Thomas Gerald Herwer's step Grandfather wrote a book on Shasta. He was a Reverend - wrote earlier book on Lemuria which he supposedly wrote during trance. "SHASTA" was a very interesting manuscript. In the book he spoke of the gray people who would come down from Shasta to shop for supplies. They used ore, i.e., gold, etc. As I recall (and it has been many years since I read the manuscript) townsfolk often witnessed the people from the mountain come into town. If anyone knows where I can get a copy of The Lost Continent of Lemuria or a copy of the manuscript "Shasta", I would be extremely grateful. Anyone having a copy of the article or Reverend Christopher (Christensen(?)) Herwer's works - would you be so kind to contact me. God Bless and thank-you.

It was a top this majestic mount that I was tested, and here I found the wise man. His words to me were: "That which you seek is in your heart, and if you listen closly you can hear them even in your own backyard...Descend Carefully. The mountain is part of me now, I am glad to know her.

While I haven't actually stayed near Mt. Shasta, I did enjoy the beautiful view when driving from Reno, Nevada. I actually had my husband pull over just so I could get out and admire the view! I am from Oregon and even though we have beautiful scenery I was totally impressed with Mt. Shasta. It was lovely to come across your page.
